  And the Oscar goes to...
...the wrong movie. Brokeback Mountain deserved best picture and having seen the movie that won the award, I can say that without any hesitation. Had Capote won, or Good Night and Good Luck, I would've had to keep my mouth shut, but since I have seen Crash, I can say what I want.

I had an analogy for Brokeback Mountain and how badly it got screwed, but I'll save it for when the kids are asleep.

Oh, and I like my Academy awards stuffy and drenched in Hollywood glitz and glamous...NO MORE CURSING RAP SONGS!

Comments:
Aww, don't be sad that a movie about Los Angeles won best picture! Honestly, I have never seen any of the other movies; but Crash seemed to have a lot of substance and discussion points. All the others just had one. :P Iono, I just watch them. No, really, I don't care at all. ;)

I've only seen Crash and Brokeback, and honestly I can't believe Crash was even nominated. I demand a recount.

When the hell did this site change?

I've seen every Best Picture nominee. Crash was the bottom of my list. If Capote or Good Night, and Good Luck had won I would have been slightly disappointed but understanding. I feel like the Academy chose the safest, least questionable movie of the lot. Crash was all about racism, a fairly safe subject on the controvercy scale. Terrorism, journalism, and homosexuality are all powderkegs these days in comparison.

Agree with the letter H. Crash was the safest choice and while it was good, it had a lot of forced coincidence.

It's like when you name a movie "Good Will Hunting" and the lead characters name is Will Hunting. It's just a LITTLE bit much.

But I did love the movie.
