Good song. I like it. The video is a bit over the top but, hey, I get it, Green Day is against the war. I mean, look how it effects young people in love! THEY ARE IN LOVE!!!

Young people in love, one of which loves the other SO much that he voluntarily joins the military as a grunt during a time of war, apparently without consulting the one that means everything to him. I don't know. I get the point, but it was just a little sappy. I made me want to kick the kids ass for making such a dumb move. He's got a hot girl at home and things seem alright. (rolling around in the fields of heather with said hot girl pretty much defines "alright" to me) Did he not expect things to suck once he got to Iraq? You know, they are fighting a war over there.

Still good song...and the kid got the same haircut you got, only he only got his for free.
 

There was no end to the video! I mean, I get that they are saying there is no definite end to the story in the video, but I didn't even know the video ended when it did. I thought for a second that my video feed got interrupted.

But being the sap that I am (and indeed, it was sappy), I was teary-eyed when they were fighting. It was pretty upsetting. They did a pretty good job of portraying a happy, young, and idealistic couple. Sad.
 

There's nothing more punk than 35 year old men playing music marketed squarely at the TRL crowd and multi-million dollar production values.
